In this episode, Stuart and Abby, both diagnosed with bone marrow disorders, introduce us to Nicola, a Youth Support Coordinator (YSC) at Edinburgh Western General. They discuss the unique role of a YSC, the challenges and rewards of supporting young cancer patients, and the importance of peer support and emotional resilience. Nicola explains the difference between a YSC and other members of the TYA team, and discusses the non-clinical support they provide, including navigating friendships and organising peer support activities
